2. Help Choosing Outfits & Styling

You don’t need a huge wardrobe - just pieces that feel comfortable and confident whilst being photographed.

I’ll guide you through colours, textures and layering that work beautifully on camera, especially for:

• Equestrian portraits

• Country lifestyle imagery

• Personal branding and small business shoots

• Soft, natural outdoor portraits

3. A Calm, Relaxed Shooting Environment

Most clients start the day saying, “I’m awkward in front of the camera!”, and by the end, they’re having fun and feeling confident.

I’ll guide you through:

• How to stand, sit, walk or interact with your horse

There's no pressure, just gentle direction so everything feels effortless.

 

4. Time to Settle In

The first 10–15 minutes are to get to know you and the location, and a few warm-up shots.
We take it slow, ease into the session, and get you and the horses feeling comfortable in a different environment.

8. A Professionally Edited Gallery

After your shoot, I hand-select the best images and edit them in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Your final gallery will be delivered:

• Via a private online link

• With full-quality downloads

• Options for prints and artwork

• Easy sharing with friends and family

Turnaround is usually 3-5 days depending on season.

 

What to Wear for Your Photoshoot​

Here’s how to choose outfits that look amazing in your final images:

 

Simple, Flattering Outfits Work Best

• Neutral colours (cream, navy, olive, burgundy, camel)

• Soft fabrics that move (knitwear, cotton, linen)

• Layers for variety

• Avoid bold logos unless you are working with the brand

• Bring 2 outfit changes

 

For Equestrian Photoshoots

• Clean, polished boots

• Coordinated horse accessories

• Smart or dressy outfit for one look

• Something casual for a second look

• Rugs or saddle pads in complementary colours

 

Hair & Makeup

You don’t need a full glam look - just aim for:

• Natural makeup

• Brushed hair

• Lip balm or soft colour

• A hair brush (handy for you and your horse!)

• Baby wipes for your horses nose and any travel marks 

• A drink

• Treats for pets and horses

How long does a photoshoot last?

Most sessions last 1–2 hours, but branding shoots can take longer depending on outfit changes and locations.

 

Can I include my horse, dog or partner?

Absolutely - the more the merrier! Your shoot can include pets, partners, friends or family at no extra charge.

 

What if I feel awkward in photos?

Nearly everyone says this and it’s my job to guide you so you look natural and confident. You won’t be left to “figure it out” alone!

 

Do you travel outside Cornwall?

Yes! I cover Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and beyond. Travel costs may apply depending on distance.

 

What happens if the weather is bad?

We either:

• Switch to sheltered locations

• Work around showers

• Or reschedule if the weather is truly unsuitable

I always keep an eye on the forecast.

 

How many images will I receive?

This varies by package, but you’ll receive a curated selection of fully edited, high-resolution images.

 

When will I get my photos?

Most galleries are delivered within 3-5 days.
